Almost Three-Quarters of Brits (74%) Wish They Could Save Time by Handing Over Everyday Tasks to AI

LONDON, United Kingdom – Jan 30, 2024 – As the AI revolution gains momentum, new Samsung research shows that almost half (45%) of busy Brits would use the technology to help them to get things done faster, leaving more time to do the things they love.

And with extra hours on their hands, Brits would use the time to relax (40%), hang out with their loved ones (23%), and even take up a side hustle to make more money (25%), thanks to fueled confidence from AI technology.

The new Samsung Galaxy S24 has arrived at the perfect moment, created with timesaving in mind, giving people a day-to-day advantage.

For those looking to speed up the workday, the new Transcript and Notes Assist[1] helps streamline admin like never before. There is also Live Translate[2], a feature that allows two people speaking in different languages to have a conversation in real-time. Circle to Search with Google’[3] lets you instantly search anything you see on your phone, without switching apps. It can quickly help you find a recipe for something delicious you saw on social or where to buy the shirt someone’s wearing in a photo.

Today, research from Samsung reveals that over a third (35%) of the nation wants to use AI more, with almost 3 in 4 (74%) trusting the power of the technology when used responsibly. A staggering 29% would even turn to AI to assist them with big life events like an important meeting at work (32%), planning a once-in-a-lifetime holiday (27%), or pulling together a milestone birthday party.

Samsung is teaming up with leading Professor and AI expert Hannah Fry as an ambassador for Samsung Galaxy AI, to demystify AI and uncover the potential of the technology when it comes to speeding up our daily routines.

Professor Hannah Fry comments: “AI isn’t just about the big things that can almost feel out of this world. AI has the potential to make us smarter in our everyday lives. It can help families keep on top of their schedules and busy diaries, improve online shopping, as well as speed up the workday with intelligent tools that cut the time spent on admin. AI is not a thing of the future, it is happening here and now.”

And whilst AI is benefiting our lives now, research by trends forecaster, The Future Laboratory, has unveiled how such technologies will also shape our future, from more bespoke e-commerce experiences, to upgraded algorithms and personalised gaming experiences – with behaviour cloning capabilities to literally put players in their game.

For now, when it comes to other tasks Brits would hand over to AI, topping the list includes keeping on top of calendar reminders (37%), paying the bills (33%), and writing their shopping lists (24%).

Annika Bizon, Director of Marketing, Omnichannel & Head of Ireland – MX Division comments: “The noise around the potential for AI has been building in recent years. But for many of us as individuals, the question remains: how and when will we see tangible and meaningful benefits in our daily lives? We believe that’s where Samsung comes in. Galaxy AI brings a new dawn for the smartphone, putting barrier-free communications, unleashed productivity, and redefined creativity right in the palm of Samsung users’ hands – and we can’t wait to see what they do with it.”

The new Samsung Galaxy S24 series is available for pre-order now at samsung.com and shoppers can purchase online or in-store from 31st January 2024.
