According to Samsung’s global 2024 AI-Preneur Effect report, 73% of Gen Zers dream of starting a side hustle, and of those, the same percentage are using AI to enhance their pursuits.
But where does this appetite for side hustles come from? The majority (87%) of Gen Z globally have specific challenges with full-time work, citing inflexibility (60%), job security (58%), and creativity (55%) as their top challenges.
Nearly 7 in 10 of Gen Z feel that they are not equipped with the skills to start a side hustle, and 60% don’t feel they have the time.
More than half (51%) of Gen Z also feel they don’t have the devices they need for side hustle success, with 65% of the cohort preferring to use AI tools that are integrated into devices they already use.
