Samsung and Fisher House: A Commitment to Support Military Families
Samsung is known for its innovative technology and commitment to making a positive impact in communities across the United States. One of the ways the company demonstrates this commitment is through its support of the Fisher House Foundation, a non-profit organization that builds comfort homes where military and veteran families can stay free of charge, while a loved one is in the hospital.
Samsung is a longtime supporter of Fisher House and specifically its local programs in South Carolina. In April 2023, Samsung proudly participated in the opening of a new Fisher House in Columbia, South Carolina. It’s the second Fisher House in South Carolina, with the first located in Charleston. The new Columbia location is situated on the campus of the William Jennings Bryan Dorn VA Medical Center and provides 16 private suites for families of veterans and active duty military members receiving medical care at the facility.

Through its corporate social responsibility initiatives, Samsung helped realize the dream of a Fisher House in Columbia, which is the 94th Fisher House built in the United States. Since the start of the pandemic, Fisher House implemented new safety protocols to protect residents and staff, including limiting the number of guests in each home, increasing cleaning, and disinfection procedures.
Despite the challenges brought on by the pandemic, Fisher House remains committed to its mission of providing a “home away from home” for military and veteran families during a time when they need it most. With the support of companies like Samsung, Fisher House can continue to expand its reach and help more families in need.
