Simplified Home screen grid
Your Home screen now looks even better than before. A new standard grid layout keeps things symmetrical and makes it easier to use One UI widgets in standard sizes.

Portrait/landscape Home screen customization
Keep your Home screen looking its best no matter how you're holding your tablet. You can customize your portrait and landscape Home screen layouts separately. The same apps and widgets will appear in both layouts, but you can move them around and resize them separately.

Customize your app and widget style
Make your Home screen look just the way you like it. You can now adjust the size of app icons and choose whether or not to show text labels below app icons and featured widgets. You can also adjust shape, background color, and transparency in the settings for each widget.

Auto hide taskbar
Save more screen space for your apps by automatically hiding the taskbar when you open an app. To make it come back, swipe up slowly from the bottom of the screen.



Lock screen

Stay on top of important tasks with the Now bar
Check the information you need right now and start essential features without unlocking your tablet. Ongoing tasks will appear in the Now bar at the bottom of your Lock screen so you can check key information quickly. Information includes media controls, Stopwatch, Timer, Voice Recorder, Samsung Health, and more.

Make your clock look just the way you like it
Discover a variety of new clock styles for your Lock screen. You can adjust the thickness of lines in the default clock style, or try one of the new animated clocks to match your tastes. You can also resize your clock to any size you like and drag it to your desired position on the Lock screen.

More widgets and shortcuts
You can now see more and do more even when your tablet is locked. Add a widget to show pictures and stories from your Gallery, or try a shortcut that opens the QR code scanner with a quick swipe.



Quick panel and notifications

Separate notification and quick panels
Instantly access the panel you need with more space for quick settings. Swipe down from the top right corner of the screen to open the quick settings panel. Swipe down from anywhere else on the top of the screen to open the notification panel.

Customize your quick panel
Create the quick panel layout that's right for you. You can tap the pencil icon at the top of the quick panel to enter Edit mode, then move buttons and controls up and down to match your preferences.

Live notifications
Stay on top of what's happening right now. Live notifications show you the progress of ongoing activities like timers, voice recordings, exercises, and more so you can take quick actions related to them. Live notifications will appear in the Now bar on the Lock screen, on the status bar, and at the top of the notification panel.

New notification layout
Icons on notifications are now the same as the icon that appears on your Home screen, making it easy to recognize which app sent each notification. Grouped notifications appear as a stack of cards. Tap a stack to show all notifications in the group.



Capture images with ease

New Camera layout
Camera buttons, controls, and modes have been reorganized to make it easier to find the features you need and to give you a clearer preview of the picture you're taking or the video you're recording.

Mode selection improvements
The More modes menu has been redesigned. Instead of filling the whole screen and blocking the camera view, you can now choose a mode from a small pop-up that only covers the bottom of the screen.

Upgraded filter experience
Camera filters have been completely revamped. New filters are now available and existing filters have been improved. Each filter allows fine-tuned adjustments of intensity, color temperature, contrast and saturation, making it easier to get the look you want. You can also create custom filters based on the style and mood of pictures you choose.

Play audio while recording videos
You can now record videos without interrupting music, podcasts, or other audio content you’re listening to. Just turn on Audio playback in Advanced video options.

Line up the perfect shot
Get help adjusting the camera's position with grid lines and levels. Grid lines can now be turned on and off separately from the horizontal level. There's also a new option to show a vertical level.



Enjoy your special moments

Free-form collages
Go beyond the preset layouts for collages in Gallery. You can now adjust the size, position, and rotation of images in your collage to create your own unique layout.

Edit collages in stories
Make your story’s collage look just the way you like it. You now have full control to edit collages created in stories. Replace images, remove or add images, or adjust the position and size.

Put your best face forward
Replace a face with closed eyes or an awkward expression with one you like better. When you take motion photos, each frame is analyzed to suggest faces you might want to choose.



Powerful video editing

Easily undo your edits
Don't worry about making mistakes. Undo and Redo options are now available when editing videos for actions such as transformations, filters, and tone changes.

Previews for minimized apps
When multiple pop-up windows from the same app are minimized, they'll be combined into a single icon. Tapping the icon will show a preview of all open windows from the app, allowing you to easily select the window you want.

Group your alarms
Create groups of alarms that you want to control together in the Clock app. You can turn off all the alarms in one group with a single tap.

Keep all your alarms at the same volume
For simpler setup, all of your alarms will use the same volume by default. If you prefer to set different volumes for each alarm, you can choose this in Clock Settings.

Enhanced file selection
The new File Picker makes it easier to attach and select files in a variety of apps. It's easy to switch between different storage locations and categories, and previews are shown to make sure you get the right files.

View more on large screens
My Files lets you see even more than before on large screen devices. On the right side of the screen, you can see a preview of supported files along with the file path, size, and modified date.

Easily reschedule calendar events
Just drag and drop an event from one date to another on your calendar in Month view to change the event date.

Show separate calendars on widgets
You now have more control over which calendars appear on your calendar widgets. You can choose just one calendar and show only events from it on your Home screen, or create 2 separate calendar widgets with a different calendar on each one.

Count down the days to an important event
It's easier than ever to create a countdown widget for an event on your calendar. Go to the event details, then select Add countdown widget from the more options menu. A widget will appear on your home screen showing the number of days until your birthday, anniversary, vacation, or any other event that you choose.

Move all events from one calendar to another
Avoid the hassle of moving events one at a time. You can now move all events from one calendar to another, such as moving all events from the calendar on your tablet to a cloud-based calendar.

More options for repeating reminders
When you create a repeating reminder, you can now choose multiple dates for repeating instead of just one.

Enhanced quick add menu
It's now easier to create reminders quickly. The quick add menu now provides preset options for time and location conditions.

It's easier than ever before to connect to other Samsung devices such as TVs, phones, PCs, earbuds, and more. Tap Nearby devices in the quick panel to see devices available near you, then drag a device to your tablet to instantly connect. You can also tap on a device to see the features available when connected to your tablet. For example, when you tap on a TV, you’ll see an option to start Smart View.

Easily find the right device to share with. Devices signed in to your Samsung account and devices you've shared with in the past will appear at the top of the list so they're easy to find.

Auto Blocker does even more to protect you from cyber attacks when Maximum restrictions is turned on. 2G networks are now blocked, and your tablet won't automatically reconnect to non-secure Wi-Fi networks. These restrictions can help prevent an attacker from intercepting your network traffic.

More options for power saving
You now have more control over what happens when your tablet is in Power saving mode. Choose exactly the features you want to limit to save the amount of battery that's right for you. You can even change these options while Power saving is on.

When you turn on Battery protection, you can now adjust the maximum charging level anywhere between 80% and 95%.

New charging effect
When you plug in a charger, the charging confirmation is smaller and appears at the bottom of the screen instead of the middle to prevent interruptions while still making it easy to check the charging status.

Zoom in and out with just one finger
Zooming in and out just got easier. For people who have difficulty using pinch zoom, you can now activate 1-finger zoom from the Assistant menu. Swipe up or right to zoom in. Swipe down or left to zoom out.

Enhanced screen controls
The Assistant menu now does even more to help you control the screen. You can now double tap and touch and hold just by tapping a single button. New scrolling controls let you move around the screen a specific distance by tapping the start and end points on the screen.

Customize your touch interactions
Get help choosing the settings that are most comfortable for you. New tests are available for the Touch and hold delay, Tap duration, and Ignore repeated touches settings. The test can tell you if your current settings are appropriate or need adjustments.

Press and hold the side button to access your digital assistant
The Side button is a new way to access your default digital assistant app quickly instead of using the corner swipe. You can change what the Side button does in Settings.

Watch videos again
In Video Player, a button will appear at the end of each video that lets you start the video over again from the beginning.

Improved contacts list
For a more consistent experience, the same contact list now appears in both the Phone app and Contacts app. Menus and options are the same in both locations so you can always find what you're looking for. When searching for contacts, contacts you’ve searched for frequently appear at the top of the search results, helping you find the right person quickly.

Custom place labels
It's easier to keep track of different locations in the Weather app. You can now set custom labels to the locations you add, such as Home, Office, School, or any other place where you want to check the weather.

Clip just what you need
Touch and hold a person or object in photo to clip it. You can now clip one or multiple items. After clipping, you can easily turn your selection into a sticker or copy and paste it somewhere else.

Suggested actions for Smart select
Take action quickly based on what's shown on your screen. When you select something on your screen with Smart select, you'll now get suggested actions related to your selection. You can quickly call phone numbers, locate addresses, and more. Smart select can now be accessed in the Apps Edge panel.

Highlight your schedule
Mark important dates on your calendar quickly and neatly. Use the straight-line highlighter with your S Pen to mark important dates on your calendar in month view. You can also now erase highlighted sections without erasing other pen marks.

Easier lunar calendar event repetition
It's simpler than ever before to add lunar birthdays and other repeating events to your calendar. New repetition options let you make an event repeat based on the lunar calendar even if you didn’t tap the button to switch the event to the lunar calendar.

Skim through videos quickly
Save time and effort with new video seek controls in the Video Player app. Double tap the right side of the screen to go forward 5 seconds. Double tap the left side of the screen to go back 5 seconds.

Extra-strong security
If you have special security needs, you can now set Auto Blocker to apply maximum restrictions to get the highest level of protection against malware and security threats. Hyperlinks and automatic downloading attachments in messages are blocked, location data is removed when sharing pictures, and shared albums in Gallery can't be used.

Enhanced Assistant menu
You can now open the quick panel with just one tap. You also have greater control of physical buttons. Use the Assistant menu to press and hold or double press the Side button.

Add a missing element to your picture. Just clip an object from an image in Gallery, then go to the image where you want to paste it and choose Paste from clipboard in the More options menu.

Creating custom stickers has never been easier. After you clip an image in Gallery, you can quickly turn it into a sticker and apply styles such as outline, cutout, vintage, and cartoon.

More accurate image clipping
Get exactly the area you need to clip without any unwanted parts. When you clip an image in Gallery, you have the option of editing the selected area before you save it so you can get your selection just right.

Improved Gallery search
The search screen has been redesigned to make it easier to use. Results are now categorized by type, such as people, places, albums, or stories.

Change playback speed
More videos now support changing the playback speed when you edit a video in Gallery. You can make your video play faster or slower in a specific section that you select or for the entire video.

New wallpaper editing features
Decorate your wallpaper however you like. When you select an image to use as your wallpaper, you can now apply frames and effects. When your wallpaper includes a person or animal, you can apply depth effects to make the subject stand out from the background.

More widgets for your Lock screen
Additional widgets are available for your Lock screen so you can quickly check useful information without unlocking your phone. The new widgets include Weather, Samsung Health, Battery, Reminder, Calendar, and Clock.

Customize alarm alerts
Use an image, video, or AR emoji to create your own custom alert screens for each alarm. You can even change the layout of where the alarm information appears on the screen.

When you record your physical symptoms and moods, options you've used frequently in the past will appear at the top of the screen. You can also now set custom moods if the default options don't match how you're feeling.

More ways to protect your battery
Choose from 3 different protection options to help extend your battery's lifespan. Basic protection keeps your charge between 95% and 100%. Adaptive protection pauses charging while you're asleep and finishes charging just before you wake up. You can also choose to limit the maximum charge to 80% for maximum protection.

Quick panel

New button layout
The quick panel has a new layout that makes it easier to access the features you use most. WLAN and Bluetooth now have their own dedicated buttons at the top of the screen, while visual features, like Dark mode and Eye comfort shield have been moved to the bottom. Other quick settings buttons appear in a customizable area in the middle.

Instantly access the full quick panel
By default, a compact quick panel with notifications appears when you swipe down from the top of the screen. Swiping down again hides notifications and shows the expanded quick panel. If you turn on Quick settings instant access, you can view the expanded quick panel by swiping just once from the right side of the top of the screen. Swiping down from the left side shows notifications.

Quickly access brightness control
The brightness control bar now appears by default in the compact quick panel when you swipe down once from the top of the screen for quicker and easier brightness adjustments.

Improved album art display
While playing music or videos, album art will cover the entire media controller in the notification panel if the app playing the music or video provides album art.

Enhanced layout for notifications
Each notification now appears as a separate card, making it easier to recognize individual notifications.

More vivid notification icons
You can use the same icons that are used for each app on the Home screen. You can turn this on in Settings.

Sort notifications by time
You can now change your notification settings to sort by time instead of priority so your newest notifications are always on top.

App icon labels are now limited to a single line for a cleaner and simpler look. "Galaxy" and "Samsung" have been removed from some app names to make them shorter and easier to scan.



Multitasking

Keep pop-up windows open
Instead of minimizing pop-up windows when you go to the Recents screen, pop-ups will now remain open after you leave the Recents screen so you can continue what you were working on.



Samsung DeX

Meet the new DeX
The new Samsung DeX lets you switch between DeX mode and tablet mode with the same Home screen layout. All of your usual apps, widgets, and icons are available in DeX. You can also use DeX in both landscape and portrait orientations if Auto rotate is turned on for your tablet.



Samsung Keyboard

New emoji design
Emojis that appear in your messages, social media posts, and elsewhere on your tablet have been updated with a fresh new design.



Content sharing

Picture previews
When you share pictures from any app, preview images will appear at the top of the Share panel to give you one more chance to review the pictures before sharing them.



Weather

Enhanced illustrations
Illustrations in the Weather widget and app have been enhanced to provide better information about the current weather conditions. Background colors also change depending on the time of the day.



Camera

Simple and intuitive design
The overall layout of the Camera app has been simplified. Quick settings buttons on the preview screen have been redesigned to be easier to understand.

Custom camera widgets
You can add custom camera widgets to your Home screen. You can set each widget to start in a specific shooting mode and save pictures in an album of your choice.

More alignment options for watermarks
You can now choose whether your watermark appears at the top or bottom of your photos.

Scan documents easily
The Scan document feature has been separated from Scene optimizer so you can scan documents even if Scene optimizer is turned off. The new Auto scan lets you scan documents automatically whenever you take a picture of a document. After a document is scanned, you’ll be taken to the edit screen where you can rotate your document to align it the way you want.

Easier video size options
A pop-up now appears when you tap the video size button, making it easier to see all the options and choose the right ones.

Keep your pictures level
When grid lines are turned on in Camera settings, a level line will now appear in the middle of the screen while using the rear camera in all modes except Panorama. The line will move to show whether your picture is level with the ground.

Turn off swipe up/down to switch cameras
Swiping up or down to switch between the front and rear cameras is now optional. If you’re concerned about accidental swipes, you can turn this off in Settings.

Apply effects more easily
Filter and face effects now use a dial instead of a slider making it easier to make precise adjustments with just one hand.



Gallery

Quick edits in detail view
While viewing a picture or video, swipe up from the bottom of the screen to go to detail view. This screen now provides quick access to effects and editing features.

Drag and drop with 2 hands
Touch and hold pictures and videos with one hand, then use your other hand to navigate to the album where you want to drop them.

Save clipped images as stickers
When you clip something from an image, you can easily save it as a sticker that you can use later when editing pictures or videos.

Enhanced story view
While viewing a story, a thumbnail view appears when you swipe up from the bottom of the screen. In thumbnail view, you can add or remove pictures and videos from your story.



Photo Editor

Enhanced layout
The new Tools menu makes it easier to find the editing features you need. Straighten and Perspective options have been combined in the Transform menu.

Adjust decorations after saving
You can now make changes to drawings, stickers, and text that you've added to a photo even after saving.

Undo and redo
Don't worry about making mistakes. You can now easily undo or redo transformations, filters, and tones.

Draw on custom stickers
When creating custom stickers, you can now use the drawing tools to make your stickers even more personal and unique.



Studio (Video Editor)

More powerful video editing
Studio is a new project-based video editor, allowing for more complex and powerful editing. You can access Studio from the Drawer menu in Gallery or add an icon to your Home screen for quicker access.

Timeline layout
Studio lets you view your entire project as a timeline containing multiple video clips. The multi-layered structure lets you add clips, stickers, subtitles, and other objects and adjust their position and length easily.

Save and edit projects
You can also save unfinished movie projects to continue editing them later.



Video Player

Enhanced layout
Video player controls are now easier than ever. Buttons with similar functions have been grouped together, and the Play button has been moved to the center of the screen.

Enhanced playback speed controls
Choose between several video playback speeds between 0.25x and 2.0x. Speed controls are now easier to access with dedicated buttons instead of a slider.



Samsung Health

New look for the Home screen
The Samsung Health Home screen has been completely revamped. More information is shown, while bold fonts and colors make it easier to see the information you need most. Your latest exercise result is shown at the top of the screen.



Calendar

Your schedule at a glance
The new schedule view provides your upcoming events, tasks, and reminders all together in chronological order.

View your reminders in Calendar
You can now view and add reminders in the Calendar app without opening the Reminder app.

Move events with 2 hands
In Day or Week view, touch and hold the event you want to move with one hand, then use your other hand to navigate to the day where you want to move it.



Reminder

Refined reminder list view
The main list view has been redesigned. You can manage categories at the top of the screen. Below the categories, your reminders will be shown organized by date. The layout for reminders containing images and web links has also been enhanced.

New reminder categories
The Place category contains reminders that alert you when you're in a specific place, and the No alert category contains reminders that don't provide any alerts.

More options for creating reminders
When sharing content to the Reminder app, you'll get full editing options before your reminder is created. You can also take pictures using the camera when creating a reminder.

Create all-day reminders
You can now create reminders for an entire day and customize the time you want to be alerted about them.



Samsung Internet

Play videos in the background
Keep playing video sound even if you leave the current tab or leave the Internet app.

Enhanced tab list view for large screens
When using Internet on a large screen, such as a tablet in landscape view or Samsung DeX, tab list view will be shown in 2 columns so you can see more information on the screen at the same time.

Move bookmarks and tabs with 2 hands
Touch and hold the bookmark or tab you want to move with one hand, then use your other hand to navigate to the bookmark folder or tab group where you want to move it.



Smart select

Resize and extract text from pinned content
When you pin an image to the screen, you can now resize it or extract text from it.

Magnified view
When selecting an area of the screen, a magnified view will appear so you can start and end your selection at the perfect spot.



Modes and Routines

New conditions
You can now start a routine when an app is playing media.

New actions
Your routines can now do more than ever before, such as changing your Samsung Keyboard settings.



Smart suggestions

New look and feel
The Smart suggestions widget has been redesigned with a layout that better aligns with other icons on your Home screen.

More customization
You can now adjust transparency and choose between a white or black background. You can also set apps to exclude from suggestions.



Finder

Quick actions for apps
When an app appears in your search results, you can touch and hold the app to get quick access to actions you can perform using the app. For example, if you search for the Calendar app, buttons for adding an event or searching your calendar will appear. App actions will also appear in search results on their own if you search for the name of the action instead of the app.



My Files

Free up storage space
Recommendation cards will appear to help you free up storage space. My Files will recommend deleting unnecessary files, and also let you know which apps on your tablet are using the most storage space.

Integrated Trash with Gallery and Voice Recorder
My Files, Gallery, and Voice Recorder Trash features have been combined into one. When you open the Trash in My Files, you’ll be able to see files, pictures, videos, and voice recordings you’ve deleted all together, along with options for restoring or permanently deleting.



Settings

Smarter Airplane mode
If you turn on Wi-Fi or Bluetooth while Airplane mode is on, your tablet will remember. The next time you use Airplane mode, Wi-Fi or Bluetooth will remain on instead of turning off.

Easier access to battery settings
Battery settings now have their own top-level settings menu so you can easily check your battery usage and manage battery settings.

Block security threats
Get an extra level of protection for your apps and data. Auto Blocker prevents unknown apps from being installed, checks for malware, and blocks malicious commands from being sent to your tablet using a USB cable



Accessibility

Vision enhancements easier to find
The Spoken assistance and Visibility enhancements menus have been combined into one Vision enhancements menu for quicker, simpler access.

New magnification options
Customize how your magnification window appears. You can choose full screen, partial screen, or allow switching between the two.

Customize cursor thickness
You can now increase the thickness of the cursor that appears while editing text so that it's easier to see.

In Samsung Kids, Bobby's Canvas app has been offline. If you have an unsaved canvas, please save it in time.
